About the event
This Harvard Debate Council Masterclass is designed to help students become clearer thinkers, more confident speakers, and stronger communicators—skills that benefit them far beyond debate competitions.
In this structured, three-hour masterclass, students are introduced to debate methods inspired by the Harvard Debate Council, adapted to be age-appropriate and accessible for students aged 10–17. The focus is not on aggressive arguing, but on learning how to think logically, express ideas clearly, listen carefully, and respond thoughtfully.
During the session, students will:
Learn how to understand complex topics and explain them simply
Build clear, well-reasoned arguments supported by examples
Develop the ability to listen critically and respond with confidence
